The Opportunity:
Aligned with AmeriCU’s mission to build connections and empower members to achieve financial success, the Mortgage Processor I is responsible for:
  • Ensure the timely and accurate packaging of all loans originated by our Mortgage Sales Executives from submission of an assigned file to closing.
  • Ensure loans have appropriate documentation to support credit union and secondary market underwriting requirements.
  • Perform assigned tasks effectively and efficiently meeting established Service Level Agreements.
  • Support the credit union in implementing its strategic goals and objectives.
What you will do:
As a Mortgage Processor your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Process a variety of mortgage applications, including Conventional Purchases, Refinances, Home Equity, and Construction Loans, while maintaining an active pipeline of 40+ files.
2. Order and track appraisals, property searches, and required verifications (VOE, VOD, 4506 transcripts) in compliance with credit union, investor, secondary market, and regulatory requirements.
3. Initiate title work and coordinate new loan setups with attorneys.
4. Submit loan files to underwriting, review all documentation for accuracy and completeness, and ensure conditions are satisfied per the commitment letter.
5. Monitor loan progress to meet closing deadlines and delivery dates, escalating issues as needed.
6. Communicate proactively with borrowers, attorneys, realtors, and internal teams to obtain required information and provide timely loan status updates.
7. Prepare complete, compliant files for underwriting review and final closing.
8. Stay current on all mortgage policies, guidelines, and compliance standards.
9. Deliver excellent member service and support Mortgage Processing and Closing teams as needed.
10. Contribute to organizational goals by meeting productivity and quality standards and supporting AmeriCU’s vision, mission, and values.
