Compensation: $85,807.98/year to $107,259.98/year. Actual compensation will depend on experience.

About the Role

AmeriCU Credit Union is seeking an Asset Recovery Manager to lead the collection process for consumer, commercial and real estate portfolios. The Asset Recovery Manager will coordinate closely with the Member Solutions Manager and the AVP, Credit Solutions to ensure effective recovery strategies that mitigate delinquency and charge-off while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

The Asset Recovery Manager will lead a team, oversee loan delivery, and drive operational improvements across the mortgage lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage repossession, bankruptcy, foreclosure, legal collection activities, charge-offs, and recovery processes including third-party collection agencies for all lending portfolios - Consumer, Commercial and Real Estate.
  • Monitor and support the Business lending portfolio including participation lending and risk-rating review, monitoring for impairment and delinquency
  • Manage and lead the Asset Recovery team, providing consistent training and coaching.
  • Develop and implement recovery strategies and policies to maximize asset recovery.
  • Exhibit strong decision-making and negotiation skills in managing asset recovery processes and team
  • Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improving recovery rates, processes and procedures to gain efficiencies.
  • Support strategic goals and departmental initiatives

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of specialty collection processes such as repossession, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and legal proceedings. Candidate should have 5 to 8 years of experience in lending and collections with 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Previous underwriting experience is preferred.
  • Experience managing third party vendor relationships.
  • Ability to analyze & decipher data to determine where we are, where we need to be and how we are going to get there.
