At Danfoss Climate Solutions, we help customers create more energy-efficient, sustainable, and high-performing buildings. As our new Key Account Manager (m/f/d) Commercial Project Business Hydronics, you will play a key role in driving profitable growth by developing strong customer relationships and turning project opportunities into long-term partnerships.
In this position, you will work closely with building owners, consultants, planners, contractors, and distribution partners to influence commercial HVAC projects from the earliest stages.
By combining technical expertise with a strong commercial mindset, you will help customers optimize building performance and energy efficiency while strengthening Danfoss' position as the preferred partner for sustainable heating, cooling, and HVAC solutions.
Based from your home office and covering North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony, you will drive customer engagement, develop project opportunities, and build strong regional partnerships.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and execute a regional growth strategy for commercial project business across North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony.
- Identify, qualify, and win new project opportunities for hydronic systems, control solutions, valves, and balancing applications.
- Build strong relationships with consultants, planners, contractors, OEMs, installers, distributors, and other key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Influence project specifications early by positioning Danfoss solutions as the preferred choice for efficient HVAC systems.
- Provide technical and commercial guidance to customers, supporting projects from initial concept through quotation, negotiation, and order placement.
- Collaborate across functions to deliver customer-focused solutions and drive regional growth.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in key account management, project sales, business development, or technical sales within HVAC, hydronics, building technologies, or a related industry.
- Solid understanding of hydronic heating and cooling systems, HVAC applications, valves, controls, or energy-efficient building solutions.
- Experience working with consultants, planners, contractors, OEMs, distributors, or other stakeholders involved in commercial building projects.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, combined with a customer-focused and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Ability to manage complex sales cycles, develop project pipelines, and translate customer needs into business opportunities.
- Fluent German and good English language skills, with willingness to travel regularly within North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony.
