POSITION SUMMARY
The primary function of this position is to assist with the advanced collection efforts of the Credit Union’s business, consumer and real estate loan portfolios. This position also counsels, educates, and finds solutions for our members to ensure their financial success along with that of the Credit Union.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform complex commercial credit reviews to assist in ongoing management of credit risk. Including analyzing adherence to loan policy and procedures, credit quality, collateral valuation, and loan documentation.
- Verify accuracy of core operating system as it relates to loan structuring, pricing, and documentation.
- Provide guidance and feedback on loan origination risk rating modeling.
- Maintain proficient knowledge of and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the position.
- Assist in the servicing of delinquent and problem loans including strategizing solutions for the best outcomes for both the credit union and the member. Prepare loss mitigation plans as required.
- Work collaboratively with other Team Members to assist with building risk assessment models for other portfolios.
- Provide specific reports generated as a result of the duties outlined above as well as additional reporting as needed to fully analyze credits and trends within the portfolio.
- Assist on an as needed basis with commercial post mortem review.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills. This includes being comfortable discussing issues, opportunities and conclusions with lenders and management as well as defending risk rating conclusions with regulators and examiners.
- Be capable of working with minimal supervision while meeting established service level metrics requirements and review schedule deadlines.
- Must have a demeanor to handle escalated situations while showing compassion and be able to multitask workload quality and quantity in an organized manner.
- Required to adhere to NCUA, state and federal regulations and guidelines.
- Required to adhere to Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Required to participate in First Source Federal Credit Union events as well as designated community events.
- Required to attend or participate in necessary compliance training, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy, OFAC, and Privacy.
- Required to attend training sessions as appropriate.
- Required to travel as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, or related field of study preferred
- Progressive experience in lending, loan review, underwriting, workout or loss mitigation, including extensive exposure to complex or higher-risk credit relationships.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of commercial credit evaluation experience which can include commercial loan review, commercial underwriting, commercial lending, and commercial loss mitigation.
- Ability to analyze financial statements and assess credit risk across a variety of loan types and portfolios.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with others through trust and integrity.
- Strong writing skills to present information effectively and clearly
- Proficiency in personal computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proficient in financial statement analysis
- Thorough understanding of GAAP cash and accrual basis accounting
- Familiarity with all types of lending and loan products
- Proficient reading, writing, grammar and mathematical skills
- Strong computer aptitude
