Title: Assistant Director of Career Development & Network Engagement
Description: Hartwick College’s Office of Career Development and Network Engagement supports FlightPath -- the college’s future-focused approach to a liberal arts education and embedded career development. Each member of our team has a multifaceted role in helping students prepare for their careers through individual coaching and collaboration with faculty, staff, alumni and employers to integrate real world experience and network engagement into their college experience.
The Assistant Director is responsible for student-focused coaching, network collaboration and managing departmental operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide student career-readiness support for an assigned caseload
- Collaborate and partner with individuals, campus offices and community partners
- Source and develop experiential learning, internships, and job opportunities
- Manage select projects and logistics for departmental programs and events
- Coordinate print, digital and social media communications
- Supervise student employees
- Foster a culture of professionalism, engagement and affinity for the College
- Assess and report on post-graduate destinations, department programs and service strategies
- Recommend improvements and implement changes necessary to expand career development opportunities and networks for students and alumni
- As a representative of the College, expected to comport oneself in a professional manner at all times, both on and off campus
- Comply with all applicable College, federal, state, local and associational law, rules and regulations
- Work occasional nights and weekends and participate in major campus activities, including but not limited to: Welcome Week, True Blue Weekend, and Commencement
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Minimum requirements for this position are a Bachelor’s Degree from a accredited college or university with 3+ years of experience in a similar position/related field.
Preferred Experience:
- Career/life/success/athletic coaching experience
- Experience in marketing including digital design and social media content development
- Experience in event planning and project management
- Leadership experience
- Experience with Handshake, PeopleGrove, Navigate360
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Interest and ability to work as a collaborative and productive member in a cross-functional team
- Experience interacting with diverse audiences, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, employers and community organizations
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Think critically and creatively and to organize and analyze data to solve problems
- Ability to organize, execute, evaluate and adapt
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of and experience with office technology and collaboration tools of Microsoft Office and Google suites, video-conferencing platforms, CRM databases and digital networking applications

Pay Range: $50,000 - $58,500
