Position Summary:
The summer internship projects are expected to assist engineering and R&D teams with experimental preparation, data collection, and general project execution to help improve material performance and reliability for customer applications. The role provides hands-on exposure to industrial R&D environments while contributing to accelerating project timelines.
Responsibilities:
•Assist with preparation and handling of experimental samples and materials
•Support laboratory testing activities and basic equipment operation
•Collect, organize, and document experimental and test data
•Collaborate with engineers and team members on assigned project tasks
•Follow safety guidelines and standard operating procedures in lab
•Provide general support to ongoing R&D and process improvement projects
Requirements:
•All interns must be active college students who have completed their freshman year and are enrolled in courses for the Fall semester of 2026.
•Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student in engineering, materials science, or a related technical field
•Basic understanding of laboratory or manufacturing environments
•Willingness to learn hands-on experimental and testing techniques
•Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
•Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
•Availability to work full-time during the summer internship period
SHIFT/SITE:
Duration: June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026
Shift: M-F, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Location: Rome, NY
WAGE DISCLOSURE:
The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.
The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components include health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, retirement plan, volunteer opportunities, paid holidays, overtime opportunities, and many more.
$17.00 per hour - $23.00 per hour
