Position Summary:
The Director of Alternative Living leads the organization’s Certified Supportive Housing, Integrated Supportive Housing (ISH), Housing Navigation, Housing Subsidies, and Broker services. The Director is responsible for the performance of the Alternative Living division including establishing annual goals, programmatic and Medicaid compliance, alignment with Springbrook initiatives, growth, and establishing a culture in pursuit of excellence.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of all relevant OPWDD guidance, creating sound practices for the highest level of quality services and regulatory compliance.
- Responsible for producing audit-safe work following OPWDD standards and expectations.
- Leads the completion of annual housing subsidy packets for traditional and in consultation of self-directed subsidies, ensuring the deadline of November 15th is met annually.
- Develops strong working knowledge of relevant agency software.
- Develops strong collaborative relationships with OPWDD and other stakeholders.
- Leads the housing subsidy billing and payment processes.
- Leads all ISH project grant applications and implementation.
- Consults and supports housing initiatives for the redesign and growth of Supervised opportunities.
- Assists in the development and implementation of division plans and goals, driving the attainment of objectives.
- Meets regularly with division leadership and staff to monitor work.
- Establishes operational expectations, including employee performance, designing all factors in support of driving at the overarching performance of the division.
- Ensures all division work considers culture and ethnic backgrounds, customs, needs, beliefs, and preferred language creating a safe environment (physical, mental, and emotional safety) for those employed and served.
- Lead and coach assigned employees to work with all stakeholders embodying Springbrook’s basic tenets of person-first, trauma-informed approaches with emphasis on quality and satisfaction at all stages of program planning and review.
- Represent Springbrook at internal and external events, initiating participation in events for exposure, opportunities for innovation, and ongoing learning.
- Responsible for monitoring quality standards and billing processes that aligns with the division’s annual operating budget.
- Collaborates with senior leadership across departments to endorse the organizational vision.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- OPWDD experience preferred.
- Experience with Medicaid billing preferred.
- Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
- Proficiency in computer software with the aptitude to learn other computer software as necessary.
- Meet the requirement to drive Springbrook vehicles as required.
