Salary Ranges from $94,000- $98,000/year
Position Summary:
The Clinical Psychologist supports individuals with developmental disabilities and their treatment teams through assessment, counseling, and consultation aiding in diagnosis, treatment, and support. Serves as a resource and subject matter expert as needed and supports organizational goals.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performs psychological assessments by administering, scoring and interpreting psychometric and projective tests as well as other psycho-diagnostic techniques and behavior observations; provides diagnoses as appropriate.
• Transmits diagnostic and assessment information through verbal and written reports; provides therapeutic recommendations and course of action
• Authorizes treatment/behavior support plans
• Provides mental health supports including individual and/or group or family counseling to service recipients and stakeholders
• Offers consultation and in-service training to staff at all levels on clinical issues relevant to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of psychological disorders. Includes consultation with physicians as needed.
• Conducts and leads research of human behavior for publication or conference presentation
• Conducts and/or consults with colleagues on program evaluation to assess quality of care.
• Assists in the initial screening of future students or residents of Springbrook as requested.
• Determines urgency of service recipient needs and assists with advocacy efforts.
• Renders appropriate and immediate guidance and therapy for service recipients in crisis or in need of clinical services.
• Maintains written record of therapy, prepares reports and letters; phones, writes and visits social agencies, schools, relatives, friends to obtain pertinent information
• Provides clinical consultation regarding family interactions, sociocultural determinants and community resources as needed.
• Serves on agency committees and assists with initiatives as assigned; Represents Springbrook as subject matter expert when necessary
• Complies with Springbrook organization and department, state, federal, regulatory agency guidelines, policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
• Ph.D. or Psy.D. Degree Required
• NYS License
• BCBA-D highly preferred
• Experience with individuals with DD strongly preferred
• Meet the requirements to drive Springbrook vehicles as required.
