Position Summary
This position supports health and safety requirements, and quality-of-life standards by performing advanced housekeeping tasks that exceed routine cleaning duties. The Specialty Housekeeper works closely with residential staff to ensure the home remains well-maintained and organized.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform deep-cleaning and specialty housekeeping tasks throughout the residence, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, common areas, and program spaces.
- Complete high-level sanitation procedures in accordance with infection control protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Clean and maintain specialized equipment and surfaces, including adaptive devices, sensory equipment, and medical-related fixtures as needed.
- Maintain appropriate inventory of cleaning supplies, paper products, and sanitation materials; communicate supply needs proactively as needed.
- Assist with organization, decluttering, and maintaining a safe, accessible layout in all areas of the home.
- Identify maintenance issues (plumbing, flooring, fixtures, appliances, etc.) and report them promptly to the supervisor or Facilities team.
- Work collaboratively with residential staff to maintain a supportive, respectful, and person-centered environment for residents.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior housekeeping or environmental services experience preferred
- Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software and e-mail applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word; have the aptitude to learn other computer software as necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- Ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols and meet sanitation standards.
- Understanding of safety procedures and the use of cleaning chemicals.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, and perform physical cleaning tasks.
- Meet the requirements to drive Springbrook vehicles as required.
