(SICAS Center)

Location: Remote | Salary: $60,000-$70,000 (commensurate with experience). SUNY Oneonta is a Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) qualifying employer. The Student Information and Campus Administrative Systems (SICAS) Center hosted at SUNY Oneonta is seeking multiple Support Specialists to join our collaborative, SUNY-wide support team. This is a remote position offering the opportunity to work closely with administrative professionals across New York State, supporting and enhancing mission-critical student systems.

In this role, you will serve as a trusted first point of contact for campus users, providing functional support, consulting, and training for SICAS-developed enhancements to Ellucian Banner and related systems. You'll play a key role in helping campuses operate efficiently while contributing to documentation, training, and best-practice development used across SUNY.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide first-line customer support to functional offices at SICAS member campuses via the SICAS Service Desk
  • Support users of the SICAS-modified Ellucian Banner system and Degree Works
  • Troubleshoot issues, assist with application setup, and support data entry activities
  • Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, and best-practice guides
  • Collaborate with members of the SICAS Functional Support Team on shared initiatives
  • Deliver occasional direct functional office support to member campuses
  • Participate in conferences and professional development activities, with the occasional travel

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working in a functional office within higher education (SUNY preferred)
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner
  • Experience with the SICAS-modified version of Banner
  • Familiarity with Degree Works, SIRIS processes, and Scribe
  • Experience providing customer support through a Service Desk environment (TeamDynamix preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to deliver customer service in person, by phone, and online
  • Experience working with and supporting diverse populations
