Description
The Respite Direct Support Professional provides temporary relief to caregivers by supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This role focuses on ensuring the individual’s safety, engagement, and well-being while promoting independence and meaningful activities. This position plays a crucial role in supporting families and enhancing the quality of life for individuals with I/DD by providing safe, engaging, and compassionate care.
Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Experience working with individuals with I/DD preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and commitment to supporting individuals with diverse needs and their families.
- Ability to assist with mobility, transfers, and physical activities as needed.
- May require occasional lifting (up to 60 lbs) and extended periods of standing or sitting.
- Complete all required OPWDD trainings, and stay up to date with all necessary trainings.
Salary Description
$16.50 PER HOUR
