Upstate Caring Partners provides programs and services for children, adolescents, and adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional and behavioral differences, and dual diagnoses.
The Habilitation Specialist position collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who share a passion for helping individuals supported by Upstate Caring Partners. They work closely with some of the most vulnerable people in our community, to build on their strengths and truly make a contribution to improving their lives. Habilitation Specialists work in a fast paced and supportive environment with opportunities to learn and grow in the fields of Intellectual Disabilities and Behavioral Healthcare. Habilitation Specialists are part of an interactive team that includes; nursing, education professionals, therapists and psychology professionals and they provide input and influence individual's treatment plans and teach individuals valuable life skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree required; degree must be in one of the following areas: Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work.
- Up to 1 years experience.
- This position requires responsible and reliable individuals with good judgement.
- This position is responsible for a significant amount of documentation related to the people we support and program operations.
- Travel and transport is required. Must have or acquire and maintain a valid NYS Driver's license.
