Pay $31.25 - $36.06 an hour
The SCSC Team Leader provides in-scope clinical and administrative oversight to a multidisciplinary team in the 24/7 Crisis Stabilization Center, ensuring services are delivered in alignment with the standards outlined in program regulations.
The Team Leader supports staff in providing person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented crisis services for individuals of all ages experiencing behavioral health challenges. This role involves coordinating care, supervising staff, ensuring documentation compliance, and leading team-based service planning and delivery.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide daily oversight and supervision to staff delivering crisis intervention, assessment, peer support, and care coordination.
- Ensure adherence to NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH) and NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) regulations under Part 600.
- Conduct clinical assessments and assist with the development and review of person-centered service plans.
- Facilitate team meetings and shift huddles to coordinate service delivery and safety planning.
- Support staff in managing escalated situations using trauma-informed de-escalation practices.
- Oversee documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as liaison to community providers, emergency services, and referral agencies to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in data collection and quality assurance activities.
- Provide direct care services as needed.
- Maintain staffing and scheduling on all required shifts, noting peak times have appropriate levels of staff aligned with program operating regulations
- Provide routine supervision to assigned program staff
- Ensure that all staff adhere to best practices and maintain the highest standards of patient care.
- Assist in the development and implementation of program protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with other members of the integrated leadership team to develop/implement strategies that enhance the integration behavioral health services.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing feedback, coaching, and development opportunities for staff with support of other program leadership.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes professional growth and team cohesion.
- Participate in activities as part of the treatment team that may include meetings, trainings, and committees.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Nursing (RN) required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or a related behavioral health field (Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, etc.) preferred.
- Advanced degree (BSN or Master’s in a related behavioral health field) strongly preferred.
- In lieu of degree requirements, a minimum of 5 years of experience in behavioral health settings, including at least 1 year of supervisory or team coordination experience, will be considered.
- Experience working in a high-paced crisis or emergency services setting preferred.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and recovery-oriented practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Prior experience in a behavioral health or community health setting is preferred.
- Basic Computer Skills (Windows, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Word, Excel)
- Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License.
