The Clinical Supervisor for the Mobile Crisis Team is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, supporting community access across the full continuum of crisis services. This role ensures that program operations are consistent with agency policies, regulatory requirements, and established standards of care. The supervisor is responsible for overseeing accurate documentation and reporting processes, collaborating with internal teams and external partners, and providing leadership, supervision, and clinical consultation to staff.
As a member of the integrated leadership team, the Mobile Crisis Clinical Supervisor plays a key role in program development, quality improvement initiatives, and strategic planning efforts. This position supports a holistic, person-centered model of care that emphasizes whole-person wellness and adapts to meet the changing needs of the individuals served.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality care and services.
- Encourage and support the involvement of family members and/or significant others in the recovery process.
- Collaborate with the integrated leadership team to develop and implement strategies that strengthen the integration of physical and behavioral health services.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
- Provide ongoing supervision, guidance, and support to assigned staff.
- Promote adherence to best practices and uphold the highest standards of patient care among team members.
- Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and operational workflows.
- Assist with staff recruitment, onboarding, and training initiatives.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, offering feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
- Cultivate a collaborative, supportive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
- Track and assess program outcomes, using data to inform and improve service delivery.
- Ensure coordinated, patient-centered care, including facilitating referrals to external providers when needed.
- Partner with community organizations to enhance crisis response services and continuity of care.
- Advocate for patients to ensure access to appropriate services, resources, and support within the healthcare system.
- Maintain professional knowledge by participating in workshops, reviewing industry publications, networking, and attending conferences.
- Comply with all mandatory reporting requirements and HIPAA regulations.
- Engage in treatment team activities, including meetings, trainings, and committee participation.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant governmental and organizational regulations and operational standards.
- Complete required documentation in accordance with regulatory agencies (e.g., OMH, OASAS, DOH) and insurance requirements.
- Monitor and ensure staff documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Provide supervision and mentorship to student interns, as assigned.
- Promote a culture of open communication, collaboration, and accountability among staff and leadership.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels across all shifts, ensuring adequate coverage during peak times.
- Maintain current Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification and demonstrate competence in crisis response and safety management functions.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling required.
- New York State licensure (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, or LMHC-D) preferred.
- Candidates holding a provisional or limited permit and actively working toward full licensure will also be considered.
- 3+ years of direct experience required.
- 1+ years of leadership and provision of supervision preferred.
- Prior experience in a behavioral health or community health setting is preferred.
- Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License.
