Here’s the Gist:
This position partners closely with the rest of the Facilities team to ensure Wolfspeed’s state-of-the-art fab in Mohawk Valley is functioning optimally. The Facilities General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks as well as general cleaning and other tasks as assigned.
Please note this position will work a compressed shift (12 hours, 3 on-4 off-4 on-3 off).
The Day-to-Day
- Repair and maintain/monitor equipment and amenities in primary administrative building (examples include installing wall-mounted equipment, installing and maintaining light fixtures, building and repairing furniture, repairing drywall, changing air filters, etc.)
- Support areas of the Fab facility and associated grounds on property, maintaining exterior property including some snow removal at entryways, loading docks, etc.
- Provide on-call maintenance for all facilities when needed
- Assist facilities technicians as-needed in a support role
- Assist with the maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
- High school education or equivalent
- 5-10 years of working experience in facilities maintenance.
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
- Familiarity with OSHA, NEC, plumbing, NFPA codes.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to move 75 pounds, climb ladders, and work in high noise levels that require hearing protection
- Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, crouching as job may require
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
- Working around lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, paints, acids, gases, refrigerants.
- May have to operate a forklift, scissors lift, powered pallet jack
