Job Summary
Wolfspeed is looking for a Power Module Product Engineer who will be responsible for all New Product Introduction related activities during the development and transfer to manufacturing of SiC Power Modules. This includes proliferation, qualification, testing and transfer to high volume manufacture of high reliability, robust and state of the art SiC power Modules in the 650V to 1.7kV range. You will act as the interface between the Program Manager, Power Module R&D, Test & Qualification, Manufacturing and semiconductor design teams. You will champion all aspects of module proliferation based on existing technology platforms, comparison of die level and package level characterization, data analysis, qualification, failure analysis, root cause analysis and benchmarking.

What can you do for Wolfspeed?
- Transfer to high volume manufacturing of wide bandgap power module
- Evaluate electrical / thermal performance and reliability of power modules
- Perform full characterization and analysis of data using statistical data analysis tools such as JMP
- Prepare documentation and technical reports
- Work with cross functional teams to define / influence power module design and technology
- Specify and use failure analysis techniques to do root cause analysis
- Understand impact of design and technology on power module performance, yield, cost and reliability
- Hold Design Review meetings
- Be point of contact and subject matter expert for all product engineering related issues within the power module team
- Proliferation of power modules across different technology and voltage nodes
- Ensure product cost, performance, quality, yield and reliability goals are met
- Work closely with test engineers to gather characterization data during the development phase and compare with final test data to find gaps
- Represent Business unit in Product Change Review Board meetings for continuous improvement and capacity expansion initiatives
- Interact with Wafer Fab operations team to track qualification lots
- Specify required tests for new module qualification
- Be the go to person for all aspects of power module reliability, yield, cost and performance
What you need for success:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or closely related technical field
- Knowledge of Power Modules, power MOSFETs and Schottky Diode
- Knowledge of power packaging and module development
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem solving through analytical and out of the box thinking
- Data collation and analysis skills using JMP or similar
- Sense of urgency and a whatever it takes attitude
Highly preferred skills and certifications
- M. Sc Degree in Electrical Engineering with 4 years' working experience or
- Ph. D Degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 years' working experience
- Knowledge of Silicon Carbide power MOSFET and Schottky Barrier Diode design and development
- Experience with power packaging and power module development
- Experience in improving power module reliability, yield, cost and performance
- Knowledge of FMEA and automotive quality standards such as AEC-Q101 and AQG 324
- Familiar with failure analysis and root cause identification tools and methods
