Position Summary
A senior Power Applications Engineer is responsible to accelerate DIN’s in focus and emerging applications at key customers and drive Wolfspeed SiC for broad growth by pre- and post-sales technical support. The role is responsible for leading the development of reference designs (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC converters), benchmark and other lab activities for various power applications to show the merit of Wolfspeed SiC Discrete Power Devices. A successful candidate shall have strong technical skills of designing digital controlled power converters. This position requires interaction with customers on SiC application, system level design and issue solving.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to Wolfspeed customers, field sales and distributors through issues solving customer presentations, product demonstrations with proper and timely feedback/analysis;
- Be a project leader in designing, developing, documenting the reference designs for Discrete Power Devices;
- Develop and present materials at technical seminars, tradeshows and distributor training;
- Support new product launches, including training for Wolfspeed field sales/FAE and regional channel partners;
- Provide consolidated customer requirements to define new products and product enhancements.
Requirements:
- Self-motivated with a great passion for power systems and power devices;
- At least 4 years of experience with MS degree, at least 6 years of experience with bachelor degree or 2 years of experience with PhD in Power Electronics;
- Experience in design and develop of a digital controlled switching power supply including power loss calculation, magnetics design, PCB layout and so on;
- Solid understanding of various power circuit topologies (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC);
- Written and oral English
Highly preferred skills and certifications:
- PhD. Degree in Electrical engineering;
- Prior experience in leading a power electronics project;
- Prior experience in high power applications (> 10kw).
