Here’s the Gist :
As a Test Technician in the Discrete Power Device Test Engineering group you will be supporting the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Wolfspeed power devices. You will be part of a skilled team of Test Engineers and Technicians performing device characterization and verification testing. A successful candidate will be a detailed and resourceful hands-on problem solver with the capacity to quickly learn and apply new skills to resolve a wide range of technical challenges. The Test Technician works a rotating 12-hour night and weekend shift with every other Saturday off. This is a contract position for a period of one year.
The Day-to-Day:
- Perform electrical and thermal characterization of discrete SiC MOSFETs and Schottky diodes utilizing specialized semiconductor test equipment in support of datasheet generation and product qualification activities.
- Setup, configure, and operate software and manually controlled test systems following written work instructions and departmental standards.
- Effectively manage assigned tasks while working independently. Prepare nightly pass-down reports, clearly communicate issues encountered during shift, and utilize electronic work order systems to accurately maintain state of assigned work.
- Assist with the assembly of test fixtures including:
- Wire harness assembly
- Soldering
- Hardware installation
- Equipment Wiring
- PCB Assembly
- Mechanical assembly
- Assist with the development and maintenance of training materials and equipment documentation by authoring, reviewing, and revising procedures and work instructions.
- Perform preventative maintenance of test fixtures and electro-mechanical equipment.
- Support 5S initiatives by maintaining clean and organized work stations.
- Perform job responsibilities while strictly adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements)
- Associate degree in Electronic Engineering Technology
- 1-2 years of experience with electrical testing and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings/schematics
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
- A self-starting, do-what-it-takes attitude and a meticulous attention to detail
- This position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations.
