Here’s the Gist:

Wolfspeed is looking for a resourceful, hands-on, problem-solving Process Engineer with the capacity to quickly grasp and resolve a wide range of technical challenges. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast paced, deadline-oriented atmosphere and be capable and willing to work in a team of scientists, engineers and technicians. The primary responsibility of this role is to improve the operational efficiency of the Global Materials business through automation of disposition, sort, and shipping processes that support the Epi and Surface Prep departments.

*This position is expected to work 1st Shift + 1 weekend day per week

The Day-to-Day:

  • Provide engineering support for existing and new sort, batch, ship, and disposition processes
  • Monitor daily WIP charts and respond to trend shifts/abnormal processing events
  • Author new and improve existing SOPs to disposition wafers, efficiently move material across the factory floor, and ship final product to customers
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to drive capability and manufacturability improvement projects to completion
  • Mentoring, coaching, and training of process technicians

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):

  • BS degree in Industrial Engineering
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
  • Strong decision-making ability based on timely and thorough data analysis
  • Able to adapt to a fast-changing, high volume manufacturing environment
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Technician management experience
