Here’s the Gist:
Wolfspeed’s Materials Business is seeking a high potential, resourceful, hands-on, problem solving Equipment Maintenance Manager with the capacity to quickly grasp and resolve a wide range of technical challenges. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast paced, deadline-oriented manufacturing environment and work safely and constructively in collaboration with a cross-functional team of manufacturing personnel within Operations, Process, Integration, Yield and R&D Teams. The person in this role will provide leadership to a team of Maintenance Specialists, Equipment Maintenance Technicians, and Materials Equipment Supervisors supporting tools and equipment for our Wafer Operations area.
This position is for an in-person appointment at our Durham, NC headquarters.
The Day-to-Day:
Manage and support 24x7 equipment maintenance teams to repair and complete preventative maintenance on Materials processing and support equipment.
Serve as the primary Hiring Manager for the Equipment team to build a strong, diverse team.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for equipment failing to meet availability and Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time Between Assist (MTBA) goals.
Interface with the Manufacturing Operations team on supporting daily production priorities based on bottlenecks and/or operational throughput goals.
Support and influence 5S methodology, ensuring the workplace is clean, uncluttered, safe and well organized to reduce waste and optimize productivity
Work with entire Manufacturing Operations team to achieve set safety goals.
Work closely with the Process Engineering team to drive yield & cycle time improvements.
Create and maintain documentation specific to the equipment team.
Analyze data using sound statistical methodology to drive improvements in equipment and process metrics
This Job is Right for You if You Have:
An Associates Degree in a technical discipline
Demonstrated technical understanding and previous experience in a leadership/management role (including military) is required
At least 5 years equipment engineering and maintenance experience
Strong organizational and planning abilities, independent thinking, attention to detail, and excellent troubleshooting and hands-on background
High energy, self-motivated attitude with strong communication skills
Must be a team player with a “whatever it takes” approach
Willing to work in non-cleanroom and cleanroom type environments
Strong MS Office suite skills
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline
Front-end Semiconductor substrate processing experience
Working knowledge and experience of applied statistics (SPC/DOE) and structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5 whys, and DMAIC in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and demonstrated success in complete process ownership within a 24x7 manufacturing environment
