Who we’re looking for:
Wolfspeed’s Global Materials organization is seeking a high potential, resourceful, hands-on, problem solving Materials Procurement Specialist. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast paced, deadline-oriented manufacturing environment and work safely and constructively with a cross-functional team of manufacturing personnel (Equipment, Integration, and R&D Teams), engineers, and technicians, to provide support in the procurement of critical equipment, spare parts, and support materials.
This posting is for a position that will directly support operations at the John Palmour Manufacturing Center for Silicon Carbide, our expansion site in Siler City, NC. The person in this role will train at our Durham, NC headquarters initially.
The Day-to-Day:
Work with the materials buyers and submit quote requests for all materials related to production tool builds and production maintenance support.
Submit requisitions for capital equipment.
Manage budget of Capital Projects.
Receive and organize parts by tool set or CIP and inventory CIP parts to make sure we have what we need when we need it.
Plan, schedule and monitor the movement of spare part materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchase.
Obtain spares and support materials using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels (i.e., Just in Time purchases, use of EOQ - Economic Order Quantities).
Help resolve discrepancies with the warehouse and inventory.
Create and maintain bills of material and parts/commodities numbers in supply chain management or other enterprise wide systems (MP2, Oracle, SAP).
Ensure material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimized.
Gather quotations, examine bids and make requisitions.
Monitor cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value
Evaluate vendor reliability and develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive.
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
AS Degree in technical/business related field or equivalent experience.
3-5 years of experience in a Supply Chain related field.
Experience maintaining budgets.
Strong interpersonal skills to act with a range of people from executives to end-user are desired.
Proficient with MS Office suite – Advanced skills with MS Excel.
Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
Excellent organization, communications and follow-up skills.
An energetic, analytical individual who can service a dynamic and exciting team.
