Here’s the Gist:
Our company is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the role of Global Commissioning Manager. In this role, you will be responsible to establish a commissioning program to be used in support of project completions across the globe. You will establish standards, work with engineering on system designs and build a team of commissioning experts to bring Wolfspeed facilities up quickly, efficiently and fully tested. This role will support our Durham, Siler City, NC, Marcy, NY, Fayetteville, AR, Farmers Branch TX and Ensdorf Germany locations
The Day-to-Day:
Leadership:
- Set Vision and Strategy for the corporate commissioning program
- Implement corporate commissioning strategies
- Leadership of the Commissioning Team in the development and implementation of the handover and commissioning strategy
- Identify and implement continuous improvement ideas to enhance the program
- Assist in development and plan for commissioning budget/estimates and other financial planning
- Provide leadership and oversight on commissioning for all sites globally
- Provide leadership for development, implementation and life cycle management of all relevant standards, procedures, practices for commissioning
- Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to excellent HSSE performance
- Lead multiple projects from inception to completion
Team Development:
- Actively participates in the Commissioning COP and incorporates Global best practices, specifically work processes and tools in support of commissioning
- Resource recruiting, planning, training, salary management, performance management, and career development for <10 commissioning engineers
- Works with 3rd party companies to develop and source commissioning resources
- Builds relationships between on-site field commissioning engineers and Engineering, Operations
- Provides direction, coaching and guidance in construction and commissioning management including the development of personnel assigned to the team adopting an attitude of care and respect for self and colleagues
Technical:
- Plan, schedule and assign work considering project and customer requirements, priorities and resources available to cost-effectively achieve objectives, ensure quality, and continuously improve performance
- Support Project Management with the generation of Order-of-Magnitude, Feasibility and Parametric estimates.
- Ensures quality and timeliness of commissioning deliverables
- Provide constructability input into the design assist in the development of construction and commissioning procedures and plans, review and approve contractor design and installation proposals ensuring that all work is to the required standard and that all drawings, specifications, inspections and certifications are strictly adhered to
- Leads performance management of commissioning performed by 3rd parties within the major capital project
- Monitors project commissioning progress, in conjunction with the Project Manager to ensure achievement of schedule and budget targets
- Confirms all statutory and required third party commissioning permits are in place and that conditions associated with them are adhered to
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
- BS in Engineering, or other relevant technical degree
- Minimum of 15 years of Commissioning experience in process systems, process automation, building automation systems and distributed control systems
- Experience leading a team with engineering and Commissioning deliverables
- Excellent planning, project management and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Understands all technical processes and impact on service delivery including schedules, budgets, contracts
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, and solve complex problems
- Manage the connections between multiple levels of scope detail in related additional documents
