Here’s the Gist:
Wolfspeed's Materials Expansion Team is seeking a transformational leader to serve in the our newly established Operations Training Leader role. The person in this role will be responsible for creating, building and leading a Training Team at the new John Palmour Manufacturing Center for Silicon Carbide Facility (The JP) in Siler City, NC. In this role, you will be developing strategic partnerships across our Operations, Process, and Maintenance teams to build a training team, create training programs, and deliver training to Operators, Technicians, and Engineers to achieve a comprehensive training system for the world’s first 200mm SiC manufacturing facility.
This role is an on-site appointment at our John Palmour Manufacturing Center for Silicon Carbide Facility (The JP) in Siler City, NC. Training may start in the Durham facility, but the final appointment will be an on-site role at the JP in Siler City, NC.
The Day-to-Day:
Develop and maintain strategic partnerships within Operations, Process, and Maintenance as well as with functional business partners to develop and support training needs within the business by:
Create and manage onboarding and training curriculums for Operations, Process, and Maintenance that meet department and company initiatives.
Formulate course objectives and outlines while determining effective instructional methods for training for Operators, Technicians and Engineers.
Identify and create development resources, such as manuals, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials and reference materials.
Partner with our Human Resources partners to deploy training programs.
Monitor completion of assigned training and department compliance success rate.
Establish or improve upon existing on-the-job (OTJ) training best practices.
Facilitate workshops and trainings for employees, targeting skills that need improving or to further develop skills.
Create, refine, and expand upon existing curriculum; Plan and lead training programs and learning events for various levels and target groups (operations, process, equipment, engineering, management).
Evaluate and track training effectiveness; Review reporting capabilities and provide analytics, using data to determine continuous improvement activities and solutions; Implement improvements as appropriate.
Partner with the Engineering group to implement procedures to improve quality, eliminate waste, decrease costs, and improve productivities and other efficiencies.
Prepare for external or customer audits to support the certification of training programs for successful certifications.
Support continuous improvement efforts consistent with Wolfspeed values.
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
A Bachelor's degree or related military equivalent.
8+ years in leadership development and training.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite programs.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and effectively across teams.
Experience with establishing, building, and developing strong, effective teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related field
Experience influencing transformational change within organizations, specifically in the area of training at a corporate level.
Experience within a manufacturing setting.
Semiconductor industry experience.
This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.
