Here’s the Gist:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to take on the challenging role of Manufacturing Quality Engineer at our Epitaxy manufacturing facility in Farmers Branch, TX. This person will be responsible for establishing, executing, and continuously improving the silicon carbide materials quality management system. The Materials Manufacturing Quality Engineer will have significant influence on the growth of the Quality Management Systems as the Materials Business expands. This person will be a key leader within the Manufacturing Quality Engineering team.
The Day-to-Day:
- Manage and drive high visibility projects to establish a world-class semiconductor materials quality management system.
- Interface with senior leaders on the technical evaluation of quality issues.
- Work to quickly identify, diagnose, and disposition quality events in a fast-paced, high volume environment.
- Lead and support all quality management activities, including audits, change management, nonconforming material management, Root Cause Investigation / Root Cause Analysis, problem solving 8Ds, Corrective & Preventive Actions, etc.
- Interface with customers and internal teams to solve complex problems.
- Drive quality improvements in all areas of the silicon carbide materials factories.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key internal stakeholders including materials factory leadership, cross-functional teams, and quality team peers.
- Direct, manage, and coordinate the activities of cross-functional groups outside of the quality organization to achieve quality requirements.
- Receive assignments in the form of broad objectives and translate them into detailed action plans to meet goals.
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Qualifications):
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related degree.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Experience with driving continuous improvement projects.
- Knowledge of quality systems, semiconductor materials, and semiconductor wafer fabrication.
- Experience with IATF 16949 certification or auditing to the IATF 16949 standard.
- Knowledge of effective management systems, risk evaluation and management methods, and large-scale manufacturing environments.
- Experience with reading, interpreting, and implementing codes and standards.
- The ability to operate in a fast paced, highly dynamic environment and to execute at both a detailed level as well as a strategic level.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Demonstrated capability of interacting with senior leaders throughout an organization.
- Ability to work in large, complex, global environment.
Preferred skills and certifications:
- Knowledge and/or certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt; expertise in Statistical Process Controls.
