Here’s the Gist:
Wolfspeed is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join the Facilities Operations & Maintenance Team at our new location in Siler City, NC – the world’s largest silicon carbide materials factory. This position requires you to perform all aspects of maintenance of the systems that provide uninterrupted services and critical utilities as needed to maintain life safety and production. To ensure that the facilities are maintained and conditioned as needed to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment and enable Wolfspeed team members to be productive while performing their job functions.
The Day-to-Day:
Respond and troubleshoot various types of alarms including, temperature, humidity, air/water pressures, and water levels etc.
Respond to emergencies such as water leaks and power issues.
Starting/Stopping/Maintaining equipment such as boilers, chillers, air handlers, exhaust fans, and generators.
You will be able to solve complex problems with little supervision, allowing you to make decisions on how and when a project is completed
Routine use of computers and software to include Microsoft Office suite of products, SCADA, and CMMS.
Implement and sustain standard organizational practices and adhere to 5S practices.
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
High School Diploma or GED Required.
Valid US Driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
5 years of industrial maintenance related experience or a combination of education, certificates, and experience
Experience in lubrication, pneumatics, piping/plumbing repair, HVAC fundamentals, belt replacement, electrical schematics or troubleshooting
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Use of computerized building management system / SCADA to maintain and troubleshoot facility equipment.
Must be able to work safely, use all personal protective equipment and attend training as required by OSHA and job requirements.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
Ability to work in an industrial/manufacturing environment that have HVAC units, pumps, motors, tanks, and other facilities related equipment
Ability to work with machinery and moving parts, in non climate controlled environments, work at heights, and in confined spaces
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in repetitive motions and pressure involving fingers, hands, and wrists
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing or walking over hard concrete surface
Exposure to recurring bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, sitting, climbing ladders, stretching, or similar activities
This position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations
