Here’s the Gist:
Wolfspeed’s Crystal Growth Team is seeking an Electrical Technician. As a member of the Crystal Growth Equipment Build team, the person in this role will be assembling and wiring control panels, connecting control panels to new systems, performing equipment startup, modifications, upgrades to existing systems and assisting in the daily troubleshooting and maintenance of existing systems as needed. This role will be responsible for a diverse mixture of activities with a strong emphasis on hands-on detailed point-to-point wiring, cable routing, and other equipment design implementation and fabrication activities. There will be direct interaction with process engineering and other groups to meet department and Wolfspeed goals. Candidates working in this area must exhibit safe working practices.
The person in this role will work a 7:00 AM-4:00 PM, Monday-Friday schedule at our Durham, NC location.
The Day-to-Day:
Understand and make minor modifications to electrical schematics including power and control circuits noting any corrections
Assemble electrical panels with a high degree of efficiency and quality
Debug electrical control circuits and/or mechanical equipment failure
Communicate effectively and professionally
Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner
This Job is Right for You if You Have:
A High school diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum 2 years’ experience in an electrical-related field
Knowledge of electrical systems with the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints
Understanding of mechanical equipment and operations
A willingness to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends and rotating shifts
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Possess a strong work ethic and ability to manage time
Desire to work in a positive team-oriented environment
Organized, neat, detail-oriented, conscientious, and thorough
PC experience – MS Word, Excel, Access
This role may require additional duties and/or assignments as designated by management.
