Here’s the Gist:
Wolfspeed is looking for a Director of Product Development in our Power Die Products (PDP) business. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team responsible for New Product Introduction (NPI), product enhancement, and continuous improvement projects. The PDP team is responsible for developing SiC power die products, both MOSFETs and Schottky Diodes, for automotive, industrial, and energy markets. This role requires a disciplined and thoughtful leader with a track record for leading high performing product development teams with a focus on talent development, project management, and project execution skills. The ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries is critical to success.
The Day-to-Day:
Lead and manage a team of customer program managers, project managers, and product engineers responsible for planning, managing, and executing Power Die Products NPI projects from concept through release
Grow and develop your team with a strong focus on career development, performance assessments, resource planning, and forecasting
Ensure all products are released on time, on budget, and meeting yield entitlement
Work closely with the Global Operations team on any sustaining, process changes, or yield improvement activities needed to improve product margin
Identify and drive continuous improvements in the NPI process through lessons learned across the entire organization
Communicate and report out project status to senior management
Support key customer development engagements as needed
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or closely related field
Extensive experience in product development, project management, product engineering, and/or process engineering in the semiconductor industry
Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of hiring and promoting high performing teams and individuals
A history of leading and achieving execution excellence in new product introduction and yield entitlement, especially with high volume manufacturing environments
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-changing environment that requires close collaboration across organizational boundaries
Analytical mindset and motivated to confront difficult problems and challenge the team to high levels of performance
