Here’s the Gist:
Wolfspeed is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer, System Owner to join the facilities team at our new location in Siler City, NC – the world’s largest silicon carbide materials factory. As the system owner, you will be responsible for facilities controls systems serving factory utilities. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of Siemens PLC programming/hardware troubleshooting, as well as Ignition SCADA. Advanced knowledge of controls and automation engineering principles, theories, concepts and industry practices and standards and their application is a must.
The Day-to-Day
Work with colleagues at other Wolfspeed facilities and the global engineering team to develop and implement standards for control system maintenance and operation. Ensure adherence to those standards at the Siler City factory.
Troubleshoot programming and system faults for plant equipment and modify existing programs to improve sequencing, add/modify/remove alarms, and aide in improved troubleshooting and error response within the plant PLCs, HMIs, and automated systems.
Work with Mechanical, Electrical, and Process Engineers to improve efficiency in systems across the site.
Identify and resolve network communication issues.
Lead implementing practices like ISA18.2, ISA101, high performance HMI.
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution.
Proficiency and experience troubleshooting integrated HMI/PLC control systems, including proficiency evaluating/modifying associated programming and devices.
Working knowledge of Siemens PLC and Ignition SCADA, Core or Gold certified preferred.
Working knowledge of Networking and Industrial Protocols, CPwE architectures, IEC62443
