Here’s the Gist:

Seeking a high performing, self-motivated Life Safety Systems Sr. Technician to join and support our team at our corporate HQ in Durham, NC. In this role you will be reporting to the Critical Life Safety Systems Manager and work within the Facilities Operations and Maintenance group. The Life Safety Systems Sr Technician will be responsible for supporting the maintenance, repairs and operations of our continuous gas detection system, fire alarm system and fire protection system

This role is on the first shift Monday-Friday 8:00AM - 4:00PM

The Day-to-Day

Lead shift technicians in adhering to departmental policies, processes and procedures.
Lead new tool and equipment gas detection equipment and monitoring install, relocations and demos
Support all life safety gas detection inspections, testing, service, repairs and maintenance
Support all fire alarm and fire protection inspection, testing, service, repairs and maintenance
Ensure the toxic gas monitoring (TGM) system, fire alarm system and fire protection is in compliance with all local and federal regulations and NFPA codes
Coordination and support of local LSS contractors for system upgrades, improvements and repairs as needed
Develop and maintain TGM & Fire Alarm system network, troubles and alarm log with root causes and corrective actions
Complete maintenance, device repairs and service that include sensor replacements, sensor calibration, device troubleshooting, network service, SCADA & PLC programming

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements)

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
5 years’ experience as Life Safety technician required with detailed understanding of Gas Detection Equipment, PLCs, low voltage wiring, Fire Protection and Fire Alarm systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
Knowledge of local and national codes that include: Life Safety 101, International Building Code, International Fire Code, NFPA 10, 13, 25, 72 and OSHA
Must be able to push, pull, lift 25 lbs regularly, and up to 50 lbs when assisted
Must be comfortable with heights, working on ladders or lifts or in confined spaces
