Here’s the Gist:
We have a job vacancy for an Industrial Facilities Wastewater Technician at our Wolfspeed facilities in Durham, NC. Candidate must perform a high degree of problem identification and troubleshooting with virtually no supervision and participate effectively in a team environment.
The Day-to-Day:
- In this role, you will be responsible for our Fluoride Reduction Process which includes neutralizing high levels of fluorides that are acceptable with our discharge permit.
- In addition to neutralizing fluorides, you will also neutralize mixed acids coming from our manufacturing process for discharge.
- You will gain experience working on ultra-pure water generation equipment to include pretreatment equipment, reverse osmosis, ultra-violet sanitization equipment that supply ultra-pure water for our manufacturing processes.
- You will also gain experience on recovering and recycling process waste using multimedia and carbon filters along with reverse osmosis systems to help us meet our sustainability goals.
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
- Knowledge or experience working with water system, wastewater, manufacturing, or mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge or experience in the following areas: plumbing, pump repair, plant operations, or maintenance.
- Perform calibrations and validations of sensors including pH and conductivity meters.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to work in a noisy, dusty, industrial/manufacturing environment, and exposed to non-toxic fumes, gases, chemicals, or grease and oil.
- Must possess a valid US driver’s license and ability to operate motor vehicles
- Must be able to climb ladders, and scaffolding at heights, work in confined spaces, and must be able to work in non-climate-controlled environments.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs., frequently lift up to 40 lbs., consistently lift up to 25 lbs, and have the ability to complete repetitive motions while applying pressure involving fingers, hands, and wrists.
- Exposure to recurring bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, sitting, climbing, stretching, or similar activities.
- The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing or walking over hard concrete surface.
- Must possess a high school degree or GED.
