• Ability to stand, walk, sit, or move around assigned work location without limitation for extended periods of time (i.e. up to 11 hours at a time)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs to chest height.
• Experience using hands to operate machinery and/or assemble product.
• Must be comfortable wearing personal protective equipment or PPE (i.e. lightweight cleanroom suit, eye protection, gloves, etc.)
Shift Lead Responsibilities
If you are a Shift Lead, you are expected to be able to step in and assist when and where needed. You are responsible for the following tasks:
- Ensuring personal protective equipment (PPE) is being worn correctly
- Assisting in maintaining safety standards in the department
- Enforcing correct behaviors such as employee alignment with training processes and procedures
- Addressing process issues with team members (such as correcting inventory, stock rotation, communicating shortages, etc.)
- Staying current with procedures and processes
- Assessing tasks due to determine the most efficient use of tools and resources
- Assigning team members to perform specific tasks or priorities
- Coordinating with other shift leads and personnel, including: Customer Operators, Engineers, Technicians, and Supervisors
- Leading by example (specifically, maintaining a positive and professional attitude, communicating well with peers, and demonstrating adherence to specs)
- Exercising good judgment to call for support if needed when problems arise
- Demonstrating and encouraging communication between shifts (supporting open communication between shifts for all employees and encouraging work-related communication with employees who work shifts before or after their own shift)
- Communicating to managers any known issues with employees, such as problems related to attendance, punctuality, work performance, excessive breaks, compliance with safety regulations, or violations of Company policy
- Working with their teams to ensure coverage during breaks and where staffing shortages are in effect
Shift Leadership Parameters
Shift Leads don’t have the authority to hire, discipline, or terminate an employee. Nor do they have access to confidential salary information. Shift Leads don’t write performance reviews, but often give input to their Manager on performance related items.
