Job Summary
Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Pharmacy Purchasing Tech coordinates and carries out the pharmacy materials management program.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Create cost-effective acquisition processes
- Compliant with the 340B drug purchases and completing drug inventory management programs
- Complete sending and coding invoices and end of the month financial reports
- Selects appropriate drugs, places orders, update prices, determines inventory par levels, maintains computer information, returns merchandise for credits, maintains related records, and is involved with the annual physical inventory
- Ability to work at offsite locations as required
- Perform other duties as required.
Education/Experience Requirements
Required:
- High school plus one year of other schooling
- One to three years’ experience in hospital pharmacy, preferably in pharmaceutical purchasing
Preferred:
- Pharmacy or other purchasing experience
