The Assistant General Counsel provides legal guidance and support for various MVHS activities and issues, such as payor contracting, compliance with health laws and regulations, business transactions, medical malpractice, corporate governance, HIPAA and confidentiality, contract negotiation/drafting/review, real estate, tax-exemption, human resources/civil rights bioethics, patient care issues, fraud/abuse, hospital medical staff matters, graduate medical education and research, antitrust, guardianship and Mental Hygiene Matters, and insurance. Participates in monitoring legislative and regulatory developments and in providing education to board, management, physicians and other staff.
